Fortescue has acquired Nabrawind Technologies in a deal that will accelerate deployment of the Spanish company’s tall wind tower technology worldwide.
The Australian miner said the integration strengthens collaboration launched in 2023 and supports its ambition to build the lowest-cost 24/7 energy system under its Real Zero transition plan.
Nabrawind’s Nabralift self-erecting tower design enables turbines to be installed at greater heights, delivering efficiency gains for Fortescue’s large-scale wind projects.
Nabrawind chief executive Eneko Sanz said: “This integration allows the company to project its technology to an unmatched global scale, accelerating the transition to cleaner energy under the umbrella of a world leader.”
Fortescue said the acquisition provides Nabrawind with financial backing, execution discipline and access to its global pipeline.
Sodena director Iñaki Larraya said the deal demonstrates “the growth and value creation of an innovative Navarrese company in a sector that is strategic for Navarre”.
Founded in 2015, Nabrawind has delivered projects from Africa to Australia and said the milestone coincides with its 10th anniversary.
