Fortum has finalised the acquisition of three wind farms in Norway totalling 172MW from the Norwegian company Nordkraft.
The transaction consists of the 32MW Nygårdsfjellet wind farm, which is already operational, as well as the fully-permitted 50MW Ånstadblåheia and 90MW Sørfjord projects.
Fortum is preparing for the construction of the Ånstadblåheia and Sørfjord projects, which are expected to be commissioned in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
The Finnish utility announced the acquisition on 8 November 2016.
