Galetech wins O&M work in Ireland

Galetech Operations has won new contracts to provide operation and maintenance services for three utility-scale wind farms in Ireland and the UK.

In Ireland, the Cavan-based company will deliver full-scope O&M support for Statkraft’s Milane Hill wind farm in Cork and Beenageeha wind farm in Kerry.

Subsidiary Optinergy will provide 24/7 remote monitoring, rapid-response field service and data-driven performance optimisation for 15 Vestas V47 turbines across the two sites, which have a combined capacity of 10MW, enough to power almost 10,000 homes.

In the UK, Galetech Operations’ Northampton-based subsidiary Adamas Wind has secured its first full-scope O&M contract since joining the platform, covering Eurowind Energy’s 8-turbine, 16MW Howpark wind farm in the Scottish Borders.

Services will include 24/7 remote monitoring, call-out support, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, blade inspections and spare-parts management.

As part of the Howpark contract, Adamas Wind will establish a new service base in Scotland, creating skilled local jobs and strengthening the company’s UK presence.

Rob Payne, commercial director of Galetech Group, said: “These contract awards demonstrate the strength of our integrated O&M offering in Galetech Operations and the confidence which leading asset owners have in our team. Since launching Galetech Operations in 2024-bringing six specialist business units together under one banner-we have set out to deliver safe, reliable and innovative O&M solutions that maximise asset value for our customers.

“Securing Statkraft’s Irish sites and Eurowind Energy’s Howpark wind farm is a significant step forward in that journey, and we look forward to building long-term partnerships with both clients.”

Clare Walters, country manager at Eurowind Energy, said: “We’re pleased to partner with Adamas Wind as the full-scope O&M provider for Howpark wind farm. Their team’s extensive experience in wind farm operations gives us confidence in the long-term performance and reliability of the site.

“This collaboration not only supports our operational goals but also aligns with our commitment to investing in local expertise and creating value in the region. We look forward to building a strong and lasting relationship.”

Established in 2024, Galetech Operations comprises six subsidiary companies: Optinergy, Optigear, Adamas Wind, Galetech Inspections, OpsControl and Blade Tech Services. The group is part of the Galetech Group, headquartered in Stradone, Co Cavan, and employs more than 130 people across its renewable energy services and development businesses.
