Scottish Power Renewables has agreed a deal with Gamesa for the supply of 46 turbines for two wind farms in Scotland totalling 52MW.
The Spanish manufacturer will install 35 of its G52 850kW turbines at the 30MW Hare Hill wind farm and 11 of G90 2MW machines at the 22MW Glen App.
Gamesa will install and commission the 35 G52 turbines, with heights ranging between 44 and 65 metres, for the expansion of the Hare Hill wind farm, a development located close to the Scottish town of New Cumnock.
The turbines will be delivered and the facility commissioned during the second half of this year.
The G90 turbines for the Glen App development being built close to the town of Cairnryan in eastern Scotland will be delivered during the third quarter of this year. The wind farm will be commissioned in January 2017.
To date, Gamesa has received orders from Iberdrola-owned SPR of over 600MW.
