Gamesa’s profit increased 77% in 2016 to €301m on the back of record revenue.
The Spanish manufacturer reported revenue of more than €4.6bn last year, up 31.6% on 2015. The company said the increase was driven by 37% growth in the wind turbine area.
It also booked record orders last year of almost 4.7GW.
India topped the company’s sales accounting for 38%, followed by Latin America with 24%, Europe, the Middle East and Africa with 17%, the US (12%) and Asia-Pacific (9%).
Gamesa said its G114-2.0MW-2.5MW and G126-2.5MW models gained in importance in orders, accounting for 67% in 2016 from 50% in 2015.
Operation and maintenance revenues were stable at €471m in 2016, the company said.
Gamesa said its merger with Siemens is expected to be complete in April.
