GE Renewable Energy has struck a deal with construction specialist PowerChina Guizhou Engineering to supply turbines for an unnamed 30MW wind farm in China.
The US manufacturer is to deliver 12 units of the 2.5-132 low-wind speed model for the project located near Puyang city.
GE will manufacture the hardware in the area.
A two-year service agreement is included in the deal, which is the first between GE and the local engineering, procurement and construction company.
Construction of the wind farm is to start in the fourth quarter of 2020 and operations are due to begin by the year-end.
GE China onshore wind general manager Zhao Lin said: “We’re delighted to see our first onshore wind partnership with PowerChina. GE has a long-term relationship with PowerChina and has consistently met expectations and commitments by designing solutions to enable their success in the energy sector.”
He added: “This agreement with PowerChina is significant for GE Renewable Energy as it affirms our commitment towards helping China meet its clean energy targets.”
