GE is to supply turbines totalling 150MW for the Gharo-Keti Bandar wind farm being developed by Tricon Boston Consulting in Pakistan.
The deal involves the delivery and installation of 87 GE 1.7-103 machines for Tricon, which is a special purpose vehicle set up by Sapphire Textile Mills.
GE will also provide operations and maintenance for the project for 10 years.
Power China is the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the project, which is located at Jhimpir in Sindh province.
GE Middle East, North Africa and Turkey chief executive Manar Al Moneef said: “GE is committed to supporting the Pakistani government in meeting its goals of providing reliable power to improve the lives of the people of Pakistan.”
