The first wind turbine has been connected at the 150MW Khromtau project in Kazakhstan.
Chinese wind equipment manufacturer Goldwind has delivered the the GWH 171-6.25MW turbine, which is the largest single unit capacity in the region.

The wind farm is being developed in the Aktobe Region of Kazakhstan by PowerChina and will feature 24 turbines in total.
Describing the connection as a “landmark accomplishment”, a Goldwind spokesman said: “This achievement marks a significant leap forward in renewable energy.
“It is testament to our technological edge and project execution excellence.
“We’ve pioneered the application of medium-speed permanent magnet technology, setting a new standard for efficiency and speed.”
