GE Vernova has signed an agreement to supply 12 onshore wind turbines for Çalık Renewables’s Zatriq I & II wind farms in Kosovo.
The order, booked in the first quarter of 2025, includes supply, service and commissioning of GE’s 6.1MW-158m machines.
Turbine deliveries are scheduled to begin at the end of this year, with full operations expected in the second half of 2026.
The project is expected to generate enough electricity to power around 32,000 households.
Çalık Renewables said the development reflects its long-term ambition to become a significant player in Europe’s clean energy market.
“Kosovo marks a significant milestone in Europe, as we take our first step beyond Türkiye,” said general manager Emre Erdogan.
“This investment reflects our long-term commitment to sustainability and our vision to become an important player in Europe’s renewable energy sector.”
He added: “We are pleased to continue our strong collaboration with GE Vernova, particularly as we advance our efforts in renewable energy investments.”
GE Vernova’s gas business has previously worked with Çalık Enerji and the new deal marks an expansion of that relationship into wind.
“We are pleased to work with Çalık Renewables and Çalık Enerji to bring more wind power online in Kosovo,” said Gilan Sabatier, chief commercial officer for GE Vernova’s onshore wind business in international markets.
“This deal highlights how GE Vernova’s broad portfolio of energy solutions can help our customers drive electrification and decarbonisation.”
GE Vernova has around 120GW of installed wind capacity globally and more than 57,000 turbines in its fleet.
