Romo Wind has installed its iSpin wind measurement system on two Vestas V80 turbines at Energiekontor’s Thüle wind farm in Lower Saxonia in Germany resulting in 3.2% more production.
The system led to the discovery that both turbines were affected by yaw misalignment of eight degrees.
After correcting the misalignment production increased on average by 3.2%, Romo Wind said.
It added that the wind farm operator now plans to equip further turbines with the iSpin anemometer.
Energiekontor head of operations Carsten Schwarz said: “At Thüle wind farm alone we expect to gain €20,000 more revenue through better measurement data.”
