Germany’s Federal Network Agency has awarded almost 2400MW of onshore wind capacity across 189 contracts in its 1 May tender, the agency has announced.
The capacity awarded came in just short of the target volume of 2.5GW specified in the Renewable Energy Sources Act.
The contracts had a price range of between 7.20 ct/kWh and 7.35 ct/kWh, with an average of 7.33 ct/kWh.
With 2,485MW of bids submitted, the German Wind Energy Association said “the German wind energy industry is back.
“After a year with a peak volume of new approvals and a very high number of approvals in the first quarter, we can see that the positive mood in the industry is now also reflected in the tenders,” said Bärbel Heidebroek, President of the German Wind Energy Association.
