Two wind energy projects in Germany totalling more than 86MW have secured approval, developers confirmed.
The Ladenthin scheme in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will feature six V162 turbines with a total capacity of 43.2MW, with scope for three additional units. It has been developed with Energie-Projekt-Nord since 2013 and received the green light following legal proceedings. Construction is due to start in the first quarter of 2027.
The Kerspleben repowering project in Thuringia will replace eight existing turbines with six new V172 units, each rated at 7.2MW, for a total of 43.2MW. The development is being delivered in partnership with Alterric.
The approvals mark further progress in expanding wind energy capacity across Europe, according to the project partners.
