Germany’s Federal Network Agency has published the awards for the country’s latest tender for onshore wind that took place on 1 May 2023.
With a tendered quantity of 2866MW, 127 bids were submitted with a total bid quantity of 1597MW (preliminary round 1502MW).
In this round, the Federal Network Agency only had to exclude seven bids from the procedure due to formal errors and was able to award a contract to 120 bids submitted.
A total of 1535MW was awarded.
“The tender has been signed again. However, the bid volume submitted is above the average of previous years,” said Federal Network Agency president Klaus Müller.
He added: “Compared to the first quarter of 2022, the output of newly approved wind turbines increased by 66% in the first quarter of 2023.
“This development must now continue.”
The bid values of the awarded bids are in the range between 7.25ct/kWh and the maximum permissible value of 7.35ct/kWh.
At 7.34ct/kWh, the average volume-weighted bid value is only slightly below the maximum value set in December 2022.
The largest bids were for sites in North Rhine-Westphalia (472MW, 40 awards) and Lower Saxony (277MW, 15 awards).
The next round of tenders for onshore wind turbines will take place on 1 August 2023.
