Germany’s Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) has reduced the volume for its onshore wind tender with a bid deadline of 1 November.
The agency has reduced the tender volume to 2000MW based on its expectation that the advertised quantity will be in excess of the quantity of bids submitted.
German Wind Energy Association BWE has noted this is the third time in a row that the agency has reduced the volume in onshore wind tenders.
BWE President Bärbel Heidebroek said: “With the massive reduction of more than a third to 2086MW, BNetzA is reducing the volume of tenders for the third time in a row.”
“The BWE had already pointed out that sufficient permits are available to fill the original tender volume of 3192MW.
“Against this background, to reduce the volume so clearly without necessity, sends the wrong signal.”
“This year, we could have set a strong starting point for achieving the EEG additions with a volume of significantly more than 7000MW.
“The reduction puts us clearly behind, this is a false signal,” added Heidebroek.
