LM Wind Power has installed its 66.9-metre blades on Goldwind’s 3MW GW3S prototype turbine in China.
The company said deployment of the blades took less than six months from project initiation.
The blades will be produced at LM Wind Power’s plant in Qin Huang Dao in north east China.
Goldwind executive vice president Wu Kai said: “With this turbine, Goldwind aspires to lead the industry in availability and performance in the low-wind speed segment where rotor diameters are increasing in size.”
LM Wind Power chief executive Marc de Jong said: “We look forward to supporting Goldwind in their growth plans and the continued innovation on new blade designs.”
