EDF Renewable Energy has agreed a long-term power purchase agreement with Google for the electricity to be produced by the 201MW Great Western wind farm in Oklahoma.
The wind farm is expected to start generating electricity in December 2016 and supply power to a Google data center.
This is the second deal between EDF Energies Nouvelles’s US subsidiary and Google. In 2012, Google invested in the 161MW Spinning Spur I wind farm in Texas.
Google has committed to power its operations from 100% renewable energy.
