The Scottish government has granted planning consent for Community Wind Power’s 75.5MW Aikengall 3 wind farm in the south of Scotland.
Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Jobs and Fair Work Keith Brown agreed with the findings of the Public Local Inquiry Reporters to grant consent for the 19-turbine project.
The wind farm will be located in the Lammermuir Hills between East Lothian and the Scottish Borders and support about 100 jobs.
Brown said: “Once operational, Aikengall 3 will generate up to £9.4m in community benefit, while producing enough electricity to power almost 35,000 homes and bringing jobs and investment to local communities.”
