Greencoat Renewables has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to power two data centres in Dublin, Ireland.
The 10-year PPA with Keppel DC REIT covers output from the Ballybane Phase 1 wind farm, in County Cork.
Keppel DC REIT will purchase 100% of the electricity generated by the wind farm.
Greencoat Renewables’ investment manager Paul O’ Donnell said: “We are delighted to announce our first Power Purchase Agreement with Keppel DC REIT.
“This partnership evidences the significant opportunity for Greencoat Renewables, as the largest operator of wind assets in Ireland, to provide renewable electricity to the growing Irish data centre market.
“In successfully re-contracting Ballybane Phase 1, we have demonstrated our ability to create and sustain long-term value for our investors.”
Gary Watson, Country Manager Keppel DC REIT (Ireland), said: “As a long-established colocation data centre provider in Ireland, this new agreement is transformational for us.
“It will help us achieve our commitments to be net zero by 2030 in accordance with Ireland’s Climate Action Plan and our pledge to the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact.
“We also firmly believe that delivering on our commitment will help our clients to achieve their sustainability goals and solidify our status as their partner of choice.”
