Greencoat UK Wind has agreed to buy the Glen Kyllachy wind farm in the Scottish Highlands from German developer Innogy.
The London outfit will acquire the 48.5MW post-subsidy project for £57.5m once fully operational in October 2021.
Construction of the wind farm, to be managed by Innogy, is expected to kick off this year with first power slated for July 2021.
Glen Kyllachy is located 11 miles south of Inverness and close to Greencoat UK Wind’s Stronelairg, Dunmaglass, Corriegarth and Tom nan Clach investments.
“Together with the recent acquisition of Douglas West, this brings our commitments to subsidy-free wind farms to just over £100m complementing our recent £145m investment in Tom nan Clach, with its fixed price CFD revenues, and our £2.3bn ROC portfolio,” said chairman Tim Ingram.
“We are delighted to partner again with Innogy, who have the expertise and resources to deliver a high quality operational wind farm,” he added.
