Greenvolt Power has secured a €348m financing package to build the 253MW Ialomita wind project in south-eastern Romania.
The company said the deal was structured with UniCredit Bank, Erste Group Bank, Raiffeisen Bank, Société Générale, BRD and Siemens Bank and includes ancillary facilities.
Greenvolt Group, through Greenvolt Power, added that a sale agreement with Engie Romania is signed for completion at COD in 2027, with construction and commissioning remaining under its responsibility until then.
“A project of this scale and characteristics naturally requires significant capital and a strong financial structure, which we have once again secured from leading financial institutions,” said João Manso Neto, chief executive of Greenvolt Group.
“Their support clearly reflects confidence in our execution capabilities and in our ability to deliver”, he added.
This collaboration reinforces confidence in Greenvolt Power and the strategic relevance of the project, according to Adrian Góralski, director of M&A and project finance at Greenvolt Power.
“This joint effort has resulted in the development of a financing structure that is fully aligned with the scale and technical complexity of the asset, while ensuring the efficient allocation of the capital needed to move forward with the construction of a landmark project for both Greenvolt and Romania”, stated Góralski.
The Ialomita wind farm forms part of the 506MW Wind Rose platform, described as one of Romania’s most significant private renewable energy initiatives in progress.
Greenvolt Group also holds a pipeline in Romania totalling 555MW of wind, 77MW of solar and 156MW of battery energy storage projects, alongside distributed generation activity through Greenvolt Next.
