GreenVolt has initiated construction of renewables projects in Poland totalling 59MW, distributed between wind, solar and storage.
Both assets are expected to be sold in the course of 2023.
The first project, Sompolno, is located in Sompolno (central-western Poland) and has 26MW of wind capacity, 10MW of solar and 3MW of storage, and is planned to be operational in the first half of 2024.
The second project, Opalenica, is located near Opalenica city (central-western Poland) and consists of three solar parks, with a total capacity of 20MW.
With the initiation of the construction stage, the expected commercial operation date is to be achieved in the third quarter of 2023.
In both cases, it is GreenVolt’s intention to sell the assets even before the COD phase, in response to existing market demand, but also in compliance with the strategic plan presented to Its investors.
“The decision to build these two projects in Poland is completely in line with GreenVolt’s strategy of taking advantage of the high demand for assets ready to operate, confirming the capacity of our team to develop projects until the construction stage and generate value through our asset rotation strategy”, said João Manso Neto, CEO of GreenVolt.
During the third quarter of 2022, through Augusta Energy, a joint venture between its subsidiary V-Ridium Power Group and KGAL, GreenVolt signed an agreement to sell to Iberdrola, for €155m, a portfolio of assets under construction, located in Poland.
It was the first set of assets sold by the company since going public.
