Indian independent power producer and wind player Powerica Limited has selected GE Vernova to install 19 of its 2.7MW-132 turbines (pictured) at its 51MW project at Devbhumi Dwarka, Gujarat.
Current plans expect the hardware for the scheme, which was booked in the second quarter of 2024, to be supplied from November 2024.
“We are pleased to utilise GE Vernova turbines for our third consecutive project in the state of Gujarat,” said Powerica joint managing director Bharat Oberoi.
He added: “The turbines, designed for high performance and reliability, are expected to generate about 160 million units of power annually.
“This project will generate enough energy to power the equivalent of thousands of homes and contribute to the adoption of renewable energy across the country.”
Powerica currently has a pan-India wind energy portfolio of 280MW and the 51.3MW Devbhumi Dwarka project will be covered under the SECI XVI tranche.
General manager of GE Vernova’s onshore wind business in Asia Pacific Deepak Maloo said: “We are pleased to work with Powerica Limited on their project at Devbhumi Dwarka, Gujarat.
