The 270MW Hornsdale wind farm in South Australia has won a contract to deliver an additional 100MW of power to the Australian Capital Territory.
The project, which is currently under construction, won the contract in the ACT covernment’s second large-scale wind reverse-auction process.
Hornsdale also won a contract to deliver 100MW to the ACT last February as part of the first reverse auction.
The wind farm is being developed by French company Neoen in partnership with Megawatt Capital Investments about 220km north of Adelaide.
It is expected to be commissioned in 2017.
