Innogy has secured a repowering project under Germany’s onshore wind auction.
The contract is for a 16.5MW repowering of the Krusemark wind farm in Saxony-Anhalt.
Construction is planned to start in the first quarter of 2021 with commissioning expected in spring 2022.
The wind farm’s 15 existing wind turbines will be dismantled and replaced with five Nordex N-131 units each with a capacity of 3.3MW.
Innogy renewables operations for onshore and solar senior vice president Katja Wunschel said: “I am delighted that we were able to hold our own again in an auction – and this just before the transfer of Innogy’s renewable energy business to RWE.
“The Krusemark repowering project not only represents the rapid technical development of wind energy, but also another promising project that we are bringing to RWE.
“Germany is an important core market for further growth.”
In the recent onshore wind auction 62 bids totalling 468MW were submitted in response to the advertised capacity of 826MW and 61 bids were awarded with a volume of 464MW.
Prices ranged from €0.590/kWh to €0.62/kWh.
