US developer Intermountain Wind is putting the finishing touches to a 160-turbine proposal in southeast Wyoming.
“We are in the final stages of development,” Intermountain president Paul Martin told reNEWS.
The proponent plans to build 160 2MW turbines however “this can change depending upon final turbine selection,” said Martin. The Boswell Springs project also includes four substations and an approximately 35-mile 230kV transmission line.
The Colorado-based company expects to submit permit applications in early 2016. Construction could kick off in late 2016 with commercial operation slated to start by the end of 2017.
The project area encompasses about 21,000 acres of private land on Boswell Springs Ranch in Albany County, 30 miles east of Medicine Bow.
Intermountain has completed two years of sage grouse studies and found no trace of the endangered bird near the project area.
