US developer Invenergy is setting the stage for a 290.7MW wind farm in western New York State.
The Canisteo project would consist of about 90 turbines installed on leased private property in the towns of Cameron, Canisteo, Greenwood, Jasper, Troupsburg and West Union in Steuben County, Invenergy said in a pre-application regulatory filing.
The Chicago-based company filed a public involvement program to the state Siting Board as a first step under the Article 10 permitting process.
Invenergy aims to submit a preliminary scoping statement in early 2017 and apply for a permit later that year. The proponent anticipates a final decision in spring 2018 and is targeting a summer 2019 construction start date.
The interconnection facilities are expected to include a 10-mile overhead 115kV transmission line from a project substation to the New York State Electric and Gas Bennett substation in the Town of Hornellsville.
Invenergy has submitted an interconnection request and New York ISO is performing an interconnection feasibility study.
The developer expects the Canisteo project will operate at an annual net capacity factor of 32% and, if built at the maximum size of 290.7MW, would generate about 814,000MWh of energy per year.
