Itochu Corporation has agreed to provide tax equity financing for two US wind farms totalling 43MW.
The Japanese conglomerate is providing the financing through its subsidiary Tyr Energy to Aspenall Energies for the 30MW Kimball wind farm, in Kimball County in Nebraska, and the 13MW South Fork wind farm in Jackson County, Minnesota.
Kimball has been operational since May 2018. It has a 20-year offtake agreement with the Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska.
South Fork reached commercial operation in November 2016 and has a similar 20-year agreement in place with Muscatine Power & Water.
Aspenall Energies chief development officer John Brown said: “We are excited to expand our relationship with Itochu and Tyr as we continue to expand our portfolio of wind and solar assets in the US Market.”
Karbone Capital Markets closed the transaction on behalf of Delaware-based Aspenall, its client.
