Civils engineer Jones Bros has completed delivery of balance of plant for CGN Europe’s 37.6MW Brenig wind in Denbighshire in north Wales.
The Contract for Difference-backed project, which is the first to be built from scratch in the UK by the Chinese developer, is generating electricity for the first time.
Commissioning work of the 16-turbine scheme is underway before the project is handed over to CGN Europe’s UK asset management team.
Turbine performance will be monitored by CGN’s offices in Shenzhen, China and Paris, France.
Jones Bros site agent Rhys Roberts said: “We faced some challenging conditions, particularly with the weather, working throughout the year, but our team overcame all obstacles to ensure the job was finished to a high standard.”
Brenig consists of 16 Enercon E-82 EP4 machines each rated at 2.35MW with tip heights of 110 metres.
