Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK has been hired by Vattenfall to deliver balance of plant works for the 14-turbine Clashindarroch 2 wind farm in Aberdeenshire.
The company said the package, worth more than £30m, will create over 120 construction jobs and includes upgrades to 9 miles of existing tracks, 5 miles of new access routes, 14 turbine foundations and cabling to Cairnford substation.
A minimum of two apprenticeships and one paid work placement will be created under a social value plan developed with Vattenfall, the company added.
“We’re delighted to award the contract for balance of plant works at Clashindarroch II to Jones Bros,” said Stuart Matthews, Vattenfall’s senior project manager for Clashindarroch II.
“This milestone is about more than delivering infrastructure – it’s about creating lasting value for the region.”
“We are thrilled to have been appointed to work on Clashindarroch II Wind Farm,” said contracts manager David Nicolson.
“We have a vast amount of experience working on wind farms, especially in Scotland, and this presents another fantastic opportunity for our highly skilled team to showcase their talents.”
