Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (GIG) has hired WPD Windmanager to take over the commercial management of the 48MW Zajaczkowo wind farm in Poland.
Zajaczkowo comprises 24 Vestas V80 turbines and is located in the west Pomerania region of the country.
WPD Windmanager said it now oversees a total portfolio of 142MW in Poland – both in commercial and technical management.
GIG head of asset management Peter Knott said: “GIG sees considerable potential for near term growth in Poland’s renewables market.
“As we grow our presence here, we’re pleased to have an experienced partner at our side in WPD Windmanager.”
In August 2019, GIG acquired the Polish wind farm Kisielice, which WPD Windmanager has also been managing since January 2018.
WPD Windmanager sales director Till Schorer said: “Like the Polish market, WPD Windmanager is on a growth course.
“In the last two years we have been able to expand our portfolio in Poland by around 126MW and expect a further 100MW in the course of the year.”
WPD Windmanager managing director Nils Brummer said: “We have just moved into new offices in Poznan and will successively add further highly qualified employees to our local team.”
