Mingyang Smart Energy has achieved grid connection for its first wind turbine in the Americas following the completion of its debut installation in Brazil.
The project reached grid connection in August with no safety incidents across approximately 26,000 working hours, according to the company.
Mingyang said every phase of production, transportation, installation and commissioning was delivered under environmental, health and safety supervision, with risk assessments and permits issued for high-risk activities.
Around 50 workers and five contractors were mobilised for the project, which required logistics to transport oversized turbine components from port to site using 17 trucks.
Tower sections and the nacelle travelled 1430km, while other components covered 573km.
The company said the milestone reflects its commitment to delivering wind energy technology to new markets and supporting Latin America’s clean energy transition.
Mingyang added that the project adhered fully to Brazilian environmental regulations and supported local employment, training and knowledge transfer.
“This milestone in Brazil reflects our mission to innovate clean energy for all, creating long-term value for customers and communities alike,” the company said.
