Ratch Australia and Port Bajool have reached financial close on the 180MW Mount Emerald wind farm in Queensland, according to the state government.
Energy minister Mark Bailey said the $380m project now has engineering, procurement and construction contracts in place, a long-term operations and maintenance contract, a 25-year grid connection agreement and finance secured.
Construction is expected to start in early December, creating 150 direct jobs, he said without giving more details.
The wind farm in north Queensland secured a long-term power purchase agreement from state-owned utility Ergon Energy in May.
The facility is the first of a pipeline of 2.5GW of proposed projects across Queensland, which is considering a 50% renewable energy target by 2030.
