Muirhall Energy’s wind farms in Scotland have donated more than £500,000 in community benefits.
The company said the donations have gone to community organisations, council funds, sponsorships and partnerships for further training.
It added that when the Muirhall South wind farm extension goes live in April, another £50,000 will be added to the annual community benefit payments.
South Lanarkshire community charity Woolfords, Auchengray and Tarbrax Improvement Foundation (WAT IF) receives £81,000 each year to support the implementation of a local community action plan.
Half of a £170,000 grant for The Haven charity, which supports people affected by life limiting illnesses, is set to come from the Muirhall Renewable Energy Fund.
It will go towards the cost of rebuilding charity’s Clydesdale facility.
