BayWa RE has appointed Natural Power independent engineer of record on its 250MW Amadeus wind farm in the US state of Texas.
Amadeus, which is located north of Rotan, is currently under construction and will feature GE hardware.
Natural Power has carried out a full review of the project’s engineering designs, turbine technology, operating contracts, financial models and permits prior to construction commencing.
It highlighted beneficial aspects and flagged areas of potential risk for further investigation and resolution.
The consultancy said it will continue to support the project with construction monitoring through completion.
Natural Power head of advisory in North America Chris Mertes said: “We appreciate the opportunity to serve as Independent Engineer on Amadeus in support of tax equity and construction debt financing.
“Natural Power and BayWa RE take the role of Independent Engineer seriously, and the experience and results we provide will be of significant benefit to the wind project’s long-term success.”
BayWa RE Wind chief executive Florian Zerhusen said: “BayWa RE selected Natural Power for this critical role based on its reputation for providing careful, actionable due diligence on wind projects, as well as the widespread acceptance of their work product by the tax equity community.”
