Construction has officially begun on Neoen’s 412MW wind farm in South Australia, the biggest in the State according to its government.
The Goyer South wind farm will consist of 75 turbines and will create more than 400 jobs during the construction phase.
Goyder South Stage 1 is the first part of Neoen’s Goyder Renewables Zone, which includes wind and solar power generation and storage.
Goyder South has received development approval for a total of 1200MW of wind generation, 600MW of solar generation and 900MW of battery storage capacity, making it the state’s largest renewable project.
At 412MW, Goyder South Stage 1 is significantly bigger than the next biggest wind farm, the Snowtown Stage 2 site, which is 270MW, the South Australian Government said.
