Nexans has won an order to supply cables for the 255MW Roan wind farm in Norway, the first of the six that make up Statkraft’s 1GW Fosen Vind cluster.
The French company will deliver 200km of 36kV underground tables to interconnect the 71 turbines and link them with the grid, it said.
Deliveries will start next month and run until March 2018, shortly before the facility is completed.
The contract was awarded by Linka, which is the electrotechnical contractor for the project. Johs. J. Syltern AS will build the wind farm, including trenching and cable-laying.
The entire Fosen Vind complex in central Norway is expected to be completed in 2020.
