US officials have approved NextEra Energy Resources’ purchase of the 100MW High Lonesome Mesa wind farm in New Mexico, just weeks after the project last changed hands.
In early March the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission rubber stamped a sale by NRG Energy to Macquarie Group and Hannon Armstrong Sustainable Infrastructure. The new owners are now selling the project to NextEra. The sale prices was not disclosed.
The project, developed by the Edison Mission Group, Foresight Wind Energy and Karbon Zero, became operational in 2011.
High Lonesome Mesa features 40 Clipper Windpower turbines. The output is sold to Arizona Public Service under a 30-year power contract.
