Nordex Group has booked a turbine order totalling almost 59MW from Voltalia Brasil for the Ventos Serra do Mel 4 wind farm in the Rio Grande do Norte region of Brazil.
The contract is for 17 AW132/3465 turbines and also includes a 15-year service agreement.
Turbines will be installed on 120-metre concrete towers produced at Nordex’s local factory in Areia Branca, which is in Rio Grande do Norte.
Nacelles will be built at the company’s plant in Simoes Filho in Bahia, while the blades will be bought from a producer in Brazil.
Installation is due to start this year, with full commissioning scheduled for spring 2021.
Ventos Serra do Mel 4 will be built in Voltalia’s Serra Branca cluster located near the city of Serra do Mel in north-east of Brazil.
Nordex chief sales officer Patxi Landa said: “We are delighted that Voltalia has again placed its confidence in us.”
Nordex delivered its first turbines to one of Voltalia’s Brazilian projects in 2013, and is now responsible for the service and maintenance of about 400MW for the company.
