Nordex Group has won a contract to increase the yield by up to 2% at three ERG wind farms in Italy featuring 63 N90/2500 turbines.
The Fossa del Lupo and Amaroni projects in Catanzaro and the Vicari facility in Sicily will be equipped with Nordex’s Xtended Power technology.
The technology provides optimised pitch control and a more intelligent turbine control system, Nordex said.
N80/2500 and N90/2300 turbines can also be equipped with the technology, the company added.
The Vicari project has been operating for nine years, while Fossa del Lupo and Amaroni have both been online for five years.
ERG Power Generation country manager Italy Andrea Gaspari said: “It’s important for ERG to have a good cooperation with the manufacturer and in Italy we can say that the objective has been achieved through an effective solution for turbines production optimisation.”
