Nordex has reported a drop in wind turbine order intake for 2022 compared with 2021.
The manufacturer’s order intake for the full year reached a total of 1235 wind turbines, totalling 6.33GW of capacity, compared with 1636 turbines with a total capacity of 7.95GW in 2021.
The order book for 2021 included a major order of 1GW from Australia.
In the fourth quarter of 2022 Nordex recorded orders for 386 wind turbines (Q4 2021: 678) with a total output of 1.9GW, compared with 678 turbines, totalling 3.3GW, in the same period in 2021.
The average sales price in euros per megawatt of capacity (ASP) was “significantly higher” in the fourth quarter of 2022 at €890,000/MW, compared with the same quarter of the previous year, where the ASP was €740,000/MW.
Most of the orders (81%) in the final quarter of 2022 are destined for wind farm projects in Europe, followed by North America (11%) and Latin America (8%).
Turkey, Germany and Canada represented the largest individual markets out of a total of 11 markets.
Overall, Nordex received turbine orders from 20 countries in 2022, with Europe accounting for 73% of total order intake.
The largest individual European markets were Germany, Finland, Turkey, Poland and Spain.
Four countries contributed 21% to the Latin American region, led by Brazil and Colombia.
In the North American region Canada and the USA accounted for 6% of the orders.
