Nordex has passed 1.5GW of installed capacity in the UK and Ireland after completing the installation of 20 N100/3300 turbines at the 66MW Moy wind farm in Scotland.
The German turbine manufacturer said today it reached the milestone after handing over the machines in the second quarter of this year to Dutch utility Eneco for the project south of Inverness.
In addition, Nordex said it has also passed the 2GW mark for sales in the UK and Ireland.
In the second quarter of this year it agreed a deal with Irish utility ESB for the installation of five N90/2500s at the 12.5MW Crockdun project in Northern Ireland. The deal was first revealed in February by subscriber-only reNEWS.
“This entire region, with its sometimes demanding sites but very good wind conditions, offers considerable potential for Nordex, which has already successfully realised numerous complex projects in its more than 30 years of experience as a manufacturer,” the company said.
