Nordex has received a turbine supply and installation order for a 120MW wind project in Turkey.
The company will supply 27 of its N149/4.0-4.5 machines for the Evrencik wind farm in the province of Kirklareli in Eastern Thrace, which is being developed by Evrencik Elektrik, an existing Nordex customer.
Under the terms of the agreement Nordex will service the turbines for 15 years.
Installation of the project’s first turbines will start in October 2020.
The site is exposed to average wind speeds of 8 metres per second at a hub height of 125 metres according to Nordex.
The annual yield of the 27 turbines is calculated at around 534 gigawatt hours.
“I am delighted that with this major order from our long-standing customer Evrencik we have been able to follow on from last year’s sales successes in Turkey with a volume of 690MW”, said Nordex chief sales officer Patxi Landa.
Nordex will source the rotor blades, anchor cages, towers and generators for the 27 turbines locally, enabling the Evrencik wind farm to earn a higher feed-in tariff rate, due to using locally produced components.
