Nordic Generation has opened two offices in Finland as it progresses a 350MW pipeline of wind and solar projects in the country.
The developer opened a new headquarters in Espoo and established a regional office in Ii last month.
It also hired Marko Salmela as Head of Finland during the summer.
Nordic Generation’s projects are at various stages of planning and are part of a platform backed by Octopus Energy Generation’s Sky and Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust (ORIT) funds.
The platform, announced earlier this year, is aiming to deliver an initial 400MW of operating wind and solar assets over the next three to five years.
Philip Duggan, CEO at Nordic Generation, said: “Finland has a fantastic approach to delivering net zero targets and aims to be carbon negative soon after, possibly as early as 2035. Finland’s grid network is ideally placed to carry significant amounts of renewable energy, and this is enhanced by a growing fleet of international interconnectors.
“Nordic Generation and Octopus Energy Generation share a passion for renewables, improving the world around us and having an enduring positive impact on the environment.”
