Norwegian energy companies Eidsiva and Hafslund are joining forces to develop onshore wind power, in collaboration with host municipalities, landowners and local communities.
Hafslund and Eidsiva are owned by Innlandet County Council, 28 municipalities in Innlandet and Oslo Municipality.
The companies are among Norway’s largest energy companies with more than 100 years of experience in developing, developing and producing renewable energy.
We represent a robust public ownership that, together with host municipalities and landowners, will be able to safeguard local considerations and regional spin-off effects in a good way,” said Petter Myrvold, executive vice president for strategy and growth in Eidsiva.
“The development, development and operation of onshore wind power is ultimately about the values and resources of society.
“Good processes and broad involvement are therefore important.
“Together with positive ripple effects, we believe these are important factors in achieving local acceptance and good coexistence for new onshore wind power developments in Norway,” added Martin Lundby, Deputy CEO and CEO of Hafslund Vekst.
Eidsiva and Hafslund have initially mapped the potential for wind power in eastern Norway and are already in preliminary exploratory talks with some municipalities and landowners.
