NTR is rolling out wind turbine monitoring technology across its asset base in Europe.
NTR is applying the WindEagle solution, developed by Epsiline, across its wind farms in Ireland, UK, Italy, Sweden and Finland, following successful “proof of concept” testing in France and Ireland.
The trial demonstrated the “high potential value” of the equipment and the analysis capability of Epsiline.
WindEagle solution combines hardware, software, analysis and reporting to offer wind turbine owners, with fleets around the world, a comprehensive analysis of key wind farm performance parameters.
Epsiline can monitor and report on wind (resource) quality, turbine “static” and “dynamic” yaw performance, aerodynamic and mechanical blade imbalance, tower fundamental frequency and turbine directional alignment.
Epsiline will handle the entire process at all NTR sites, including LiDAR supply and installation, recombination of WindEagle data with SCADA information, data analysis and reporting on each wind turbine campaign and support in the monitoring of improvements.
Joe Dalton, NTR Head of Asset Management, said: “Thanks to independent and precise information from the sensors and data analysis services, the WindEagle solution brings real added value to optimise our wind farm production.
“We can isolate and resolve existing issues and gather information that will be useful for future monitoring of wind turbine condition.”
