Irish renewables developer NTR has acquired three wind farms in Scotland and Ireland totalling 64MW.
The acquisitions bring the total assets under management by the company’s NTR Wind 1 fund to 142MW. NTR said capital costs for the three projects are more than €150m.
Two of the projects – the 17.5MW Coollegrean wind farm in Kerry in Ireland and the 35MW Airies scheme in Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland – are under construction, while the 11.5MW Ardoch and Over Enoch facility in East Renfrewshire has been operational since 2014.
The Scottish projects have been bought from Velocita Energy Developments, which will manage the construction of Airies on NTR’s behalf.
The deal for the Kerry project has been purchased from Element Power, which was first reported in the subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS. Element Power will manage the construction and long-term asset management of the project for NTR.
Airies will comprise 14 GE 2.85MW 103 turbines and is expected to be commissioned at the end of this year.
The Kerry project will consist of seven Nordex N90 2.5MW machines and is expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of next year.
Ardoch and Over Enoch includes five Siemens 2.3MW turbines.
