The Roche family has strengthened its grip of the Irish wind developer NTR after the company completed a shareholder buyout.
The Dublin-based outfit said today that some €131.8m has been paid for the redemption of 58.6m shares as part of an agreed share redemption plan.
Major shareholders One Fifty One (23.56%) and Pageant Holdings (9.21%) had agreed to take up the €2.25 per share offer arranged last year.
Dreamport, the Roche family’s investment company, now owns 96.1% of NTR with 400 additional shareholders holding the remaining shares.
NTR is currently building the 15MW Ora More wind farm in Northern Ireland and the 27MW Quixwood Moor wind farm in Scotland.
