Spanish developer Capital Energy’s plans to develop 210MW of wind in Castilla y Leon have has been submitted by the local government for public review.
The Industry and Energy Unit of the Government’s Sub-Delegation in Burgos has announced that it has submitted to public information access, applications for authorisation of Capital Energy’s Cerevil and Cerecol wind farms.
The projects will have an installed power of 153MW and 59.5MW, respectively, and will require the joint investment of about €178m.
The Cerevil wind farm will host 28 turbines and the Cerecol wind farm will feature 11.
The wind farms’ turbines will be located in 14 municipals and will led to the construction of these parks will lead to the creation of more than 1200 jobs during the peak periods of their construction.
In addition, in the operation and maintenance phase it will give permanent employment to more than 20 professionals in the area.
Capital Energy already has an office in Valladolid, where a dozen professionals work, and is in the phase of opening additional offices in several cities of Castilla y León, where neighbors of the municipalities where the company is promoting its renewable energy projects will work.
Capital Energy currently has a portfolio of wind and solar projects in the Iberian Peninsula that is around 38GW in size, of which more than 8.5GW already have the network access permits granted.
