Germany’s Federal Network Agency has awarded 1494MW of onshore wind capacity in the country’s latest technology specific renewables auction.
The 1.5GW consists of 166 bids.
Values of the accepted bids range from €52.0 per megawatt-hour (MWh) to €59.2/MWh.
The volume-weighted average award value is €57.9/MWh, which is below the maximum value of €60.0/MWh in this round.
Regionally Schleswig-Holstein had the most bids with 401MW, comprising 43 awards, followed by North Rhine-Westphalia with 315MW, comprising 51 awards and Lower Saxony with 265MW, comprising 19 awards.
The tender for onshore wind was oversubscribed for the first time since the December 2020 round.
In total 210 bids with a volume of 1824MW were submitted.
In this latest round, the Federal Network Agency did not reduce the volume of tenders in advance, as in previous tenders.
