Lincoln Clean Energy, bought by Orsted in 2018, has begun commercial operation of its 184MW Lockett wind farm in Wilbarger, in Texas, US.
The project will generate over 700,000 megawatt hours of renewable energy annually.
With the addition of Lockett to its portfolio, Lincoln Clean Energy now has more than 1GW of operational assets across the US along with over 1.3GW in construction and late stage development.
The company chief executive Declan Flanagan said: “I am proud of the LCE team and our wider Orsted colleagues in completing another safe, on time and on budget construction project, and to cross the milestone of a gigawatt operating portfolio.”
Lincoln Clean Energy has financed over 800MW of wind projects in the US.
Earlier this month the developer acquired a 103MW construction-ready wind project in Butte County, South Dakota, from Pattern Energy Group, expected to come online in late 2020.
Other wind farms Lincoln Clean Energy is developing include the 230MW Plum Creek (pictured) project in Wayne County, in Nebraska also expected online in 2020 and the 300MW Tahoka wind farm in Lynn County, in Texas.
